ABOUT US
We know how important it is to trust that you and your pet are receiving the best possible care with full transparency - that's why we would like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you!

My name is Tanikka, but you're welcome to call me T - I am 29 years old and have been enriched by animals of all kinds since I was a baby. This love only grew as I got older, later encouraging me to study at Merrist Wood College in Surrey. There, I studied for two years eventually gaining a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management, my core subjects being Animal Welfare, Zoology, Kennels and Cattery and Aquatics & Reptiles.

From there, I landed my first job working with Pets Corner, a family-run pet supply shop where I learned all about pet nutrition and the shocking reality of consumer and convenience pet foods. I would stay with Pets Corner from 2013 - 2022, where I progressed from a part-time sales advisor, to running my own shop located in Guildford.

I learned a lot of my current knowledge from working at Pets Corner, but decided to go down a different career path and ventured into palliative and end of life care with Bupa. After being diagnosed with PoTS (Postural Tachycardia Syndrome) in 2023, I felt I could no longer do my job properly, so made the difficult decision to leave earlier this year.

We currently have three cats who reside with us, Kessie our 10 year old Bengal, Alaska our 10 year old tailless Pixie Bob, Storm, our 4-year old silver charcoal Bengal and Jasper, our 1 Year old Pomsky!

For Dillon, his passion and love for animals started from a young age where his father introduced him to carp fishing; a hobby Dillon is still very interested in. As for work, Dillon has always been in construction, from general labouring jobs to a licensed scaffolder, which he did for seven years in South London.

Dillon has always had animals at home, this included rescued Persian cats, dogs, snakes and even tarantulas - he currently has a British Shorthair called Pepper, a long-haired Chihuahua called Honey and a Bird-Eater, a species of Tarantula.

After deciding that scaffolding was no longer for him and discussing creating our own pet service business since the beginning of our relationship, we finally took that leap together and established Urban Pets.

I do all of the admin work, such as fixing website errors, Facebook posts and advertisements, whilst Dillon responds to your messages and emails.

We hope to get to know you and your pets better and can't wait to meet you!
